Fredhäll is a typically modernist residential area with both slab blocks and tower blocks. This infill proposal consists of three buildings that blend in with and extend the area in two directions. Along Frödingsvägen, we propose a 5-storey slab block with 32 through flats that allow for silent rooms at one end. Commercial premises are situated at street level. Two 5-storey blocks are planned along Stagneliusvägen with two north-facing subterranean storeys. There are 35 units in each building, six on every floor, that is to say a total of 70 flats. Wood is a strong design feature. A coherent visual impression is achieved by articulating vertical and horizontal elements where the wood is exposed on pillars, boards and undulating strips.
